WE BUY RECORDS

WANTED

We purchase collections big and small as well as rarer individual records. Soul, Funk, Disco, Jazz, Latin, Brazil, Afro, House and Reggae, vinyl only. LP's, 12's and 7 inches are all of interest. We pay 40-60% cash or give 50-70% trade value of what we will sell for. The more expensive the record, the higher the percentage. We will travel worldwide and give a 10% finders fee for any tips on collections we end up buying.

RECOMMENDATIONS

TUBBY HAYES QUARTET - TUBBY'S GROOVE

Top quality Japanese reissue of big UK jazz rarity from the much loved Tubby Hayes. Check "Tin tin deo", "The surrey with the fringe on top" or the version of "Like someone in love". Not so cheap but still a giveaway compared to the price of a clean original copy, and it really looks superb.

CLARKE BOLAND SEXTETT - MUSIC FOR THE SMALL HOURS

180 gram reissue of incredibly sought-after jazz LP with Sahib Shihab, Jimmy Woode etc. Beautiful music with some instrumental and some vocal tunes. Check "Ensadinado", "Ebony samba" or "Please don't leave". The original is about 1000 USD, so if you don't want to spend that much but still have this on a nice vinyl pressing, here's your chance.

SABU MARTINEZ - THE DALECARLIA RECORDINGS 1971-72

Unreleased recordings from the percussion master. If you're familiar with Sabu you will know what to expect - jazz/fusion with a latin feel and lots of free drum parts. Check "Will-o-the wisp" and "Oh min dara". Comes with a beautiful full colour booklet rich on info and photos. Heavy package so postage as for two records. This first pressing has colored vinyl.

SABU MARTINEZ - MALDITO PRIMITIVO - THE SWEDISH RADIO RECORDINGS 1977

Very strong unreleased material from the master Sabu. If you like "Afro temple" you need to check this, just 4 tracks but plenty of value for money. Check the wicked latin/jazz/fusion jam "Maldito primitivo" or "Hot salsa". This first pressing comes with colored vinyl.

ORCHESTRE POLY-RYTHMO DE COTONOU - ECHOS HYPNOTIQUES 1969-1979

The second Poly-Rythmo comp from Samy Ben Redjeb's wicked label, and he's not playing. Soul-stirring African funk, psych and latin flavors over 4 sides. Check "Mi ve wa se", "Ma tafou gnin o" or "Se ba ho".

CHEYENNE'S COMIN' - SAME

Reissue of indemand LP with the funk masterpiece "Come back to me" that I think is one of the best in this style.

IVAN NEVILLE / FAMILY OF EVE - DANCE YOUR BLUES AWAY / HAVING IT SO BAD FOR YOU

Loud 12" reissue of alltime favorite modern soul dancer from Ivan Neville, backed with the instant bomb "Having it so bad for you". Can't recommend these tunes enough. Check out the other First Choice Records re-issues for more rare and great modern soul and underground disco!

LITTLE FRANCISCO GREAVES - MOVING-GROOVING / HIKO-IKO

Sampler 7" with the bad, hard breakbeat jam "Moving-grooving" and a floorshaking funk version of "Iko-iko-iko" that's not on the "Panama 3" compilation. Limited run as always with these Soundway samplers, and when it's gone it's gone.

NEW WORLD - WE'RE GONNA MAKE IT / CRYSTAL CLEAR - STAY WITH ME

Long awaited re-issue of this rare Curtis Mayfield/Rich Tufo produced song. Such a killer dancer with Master Henry Gibson laying down a great groove with his congas. Flipside is a classic two stepper by Crystal Clear, another strong recommendation.
